Why Timeshare Is (Almost Always) Not A Scam (Part 1)

Perhaps, to some people, the words “timeshare,” “vacation ownership,” and “vacation clubs” are a mystery. To be fair, the concepts of timesharing and owning a vacation club membership are not as common as the usual types of experiences that most people avail of in resorts and hotels. Perhaps one of the main reasons why it is not as well-known as how it should be (or at least, how timeshare companies want it to be), is because of the timeshare scams that are being plotted by fake agents. So, you might be wondering – what lies beyond all of these timeshare fraud controversies? Is timeshare ownership something you should really invest in? What is it really about?

• Timeshare offers everything you could ever need and want in a vacation.

As defined by the largest timesharing exchange network in the whole world, Resorts Condominiums International (RCI), “shared vacation ownership means you purchase a period of time, usually a week or more, in vacation accommodation.” In a nutshell, it basically means that when you decide to sign up for a membership under a particular vacation club, you are paying for everything that you could ever want in your vacation.

Aside from exclusive access to all of the properties, amenities, and outlets offered by the vacation club you signed up for, you are also eligible to avail of member-exclusive discounts and promos. You can also expect VIP treatment with all of the convenience and comfort that would be provided to you, because sometimes, even logistical matters such as shuttle services and airport transfers are included in your membership package!

When you make a regular reservation in a hotel or in a resort, you are paying for your suite, your meals, and the services that you want to avail of during your stay. On the other hand, if you are a member of a vacation club and you decide to use your holiday entitlement under your membership, you are not only paying for a one-time experience, but rather for years’ worth of stays. This is the main difference between these two types of hospitality services, which makes the idea of timesharing a whole lot more affordable and convenient in the long run.

• Timeshare is influential.

Considering all of the glitz and glamour attached to the whole concept of timesharing, we cannot deny the fact that almost everybody wants to be a part of it. Who would not want to have something so convenient and useful, right? After all, we do deserve to have relaxing vacations as much as the next person does!
