Our Realizations from This Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) Program

May 26, 2020

Written by AVLCI

As of writing time, the Philippine government just extended its Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) program from the initial end date of April 12, 2020 to May 31, 2020, in an effort to flatten the curve of COVID-19. That means another few weeks of the nation being at a standstill, questioning what will happen next.

The tourism industry is currently at a low point with countries being put on strict lockdown, airline companies cancelling local and international flights, and thousands of jobs being put on the line. Although this sector has proven time and time again that it is capable of bouncing back from any ordeal that comes its way, surely this pandemic has opened our eyes to a few truths. We want to share them with you below:

1. The world waits for no one.

You probably know someone who deems traveling as nothing but a waste of time and money. He might throw it on the back burner, thinking he can go anytime he wants anyway. He’ll just buy this and that first, invest here and there first, and accomplish this list of tasks first before he makes it a priority. Well, this crisis we are in shows us that the world waits for no one. The borders are not always open. Sometimes, you just need to seize the moment and make that trip happen.

2. Life is short.

We have heard this saying thousands of times before, but this statement couldn’t ring truer than it does now. Those plans you have in the future? Why wait when you have the energy and means to do them now? The world is a book, and people who do not travel read only one chapter.

Of course, this does not only apply to traveling, but life in general. If you want to achieve something, go for it. As the French say, “Carpe diem!”

3. The cost of traveling can increase in a snap of a finger.

Once this pandemic is over, it’s highly possible for travel and hospitality companies to increase their prices to be able to make up for lost sales. This is when being part of a timeshare company comes in very handy. As a member of Astoria Vacation and Leisure Club, Inc. (AVLCI), your investment remains in tact. You can still enjoy your usual benefits at no additional cost! You are also safe from vacation club scams and frauds, which will surely be looming around the corner once this whole crisis blows over.

We believe that we will eventually win this fight against COVID-19. And when that happens, we will celebrate by living our best lives! We hope to see you out there in the world, enjoying yours too!
